OMNIMASK

What is OmniMASK®?

Sheet metal specialists, whether sheet metal workers or stampers, are well aware of the problem of weld beads or paint adhering to threads.

The most common solution is to mask the threaded parts before welding or painting. Caps are used to mask studs, and special plugs to protect nuts and tapped holes. The other known solution is to clean the threads using a rework operation.
These operations (masking, sparing, reworking) are cumbersome and very costly. They can also lead to deterioration of the threaded parts.
The industrial and economical solution exists. It has been used for many years in the automotive industry.
Using high-speed machines, a protective product (OmniMASK®) is applied to the threads to prevent weld beads and paint from adhering. Parts treated in this way no longer need to be masked and unmasked.

Applying OmniMASK® to fasteners

Ensemble de pièces omnimask

Applied to threads, OmniMASK® forms a masking layer that prevents weld beads and paint deposits from adhering.

– OmniMASK® can be applied to a wide range of threaded parts: screws, crimping studs, etc.
– OmniMASK® is a white, non-conductive fluoropolymer powder containing 98% Teflon. Dry to the touch after application, the product facilitates screwing thanks to its low coefficient of friction.
– OmniMASK® is deposited by spraying a powder onto parts heated by induction. The heating temperature of the OmniMASK® process is significantly lower than that of other products of the same type. This means that most surface treatments are preserved.
The parts are pre-coated in our factory and can then be used without any special precautions.
